What: We host obstacle clinics to show riders/trainers how to add flavor to their training routine. To advance your own skills and your horses. When we only train in circles and ovals, horses get turned off and tuned out. We utilize obstacles to keep our horses out of a rut and into some purpose.
Who: Who benefits? Everyone. Whether your are a beginner or an advanced rider, whether you are on a young horse, old horse, finished horse or on the ground, obstacles have a ton of benefit to a well rounded program with your horse. Do you like to trail ride? Show? Just ride for fun? Event? Jump? Dressage? etc... It doesn't matter. Obstacles are a great option for your horse and you. How?: I always start my Obstacle Clinics with a circle time. To get to know each other, the horses and your goals. I then shape the clinic around those goals. Obstacles may have changed each clinic, or we might pull a common one out over and over, because it's needed. Sometimes we will be indoors due to weather. Sometimes outdoors. What to bring: You, your horse (or use one of ours!) a good attitude, some coffee (or water) and a willingness to learn and grow. Ride bareback, english, western, australian, or heck ride backwards! These clinics are open to all types of discipline riders and all levels. Bring your young or project horse, and work from the ground up. We can even do obstacle driving! Bring your cart! Patterns are something that a lot of riders struggle with. Be it the geometry of them, the timing, or just reading them. Patterns are incredibly beneficial to your horse, even if you never plan on showing. They are good for testing and building their skills, and yours.
In Intro To Patterns, we spend time working on Showmanship (SMS), English Equitation/Western Horsemanship, and Arena Trail Courses. These clinics are set up for Beginner through Intermediate pattern work, and can be very beneficial for novice riders/horses all the way to a more skilled rider/horse. Dates:
